IHHT

INTERMITTENT HYPOXIA HYPEROXIA THERAPY (IHHT)

Gemini_Generated_Image_hjndi9hjndi9hjnd.jpeg

What is IHHT?

  • Intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy is a method that simulates an oxygen-poor (hypoxic) and oxygen-enriched (hyperoxic) environment at controlled intervals. This is done by reducing and enriching the oxygen concentration in the inhaled gas compound.

IHHT – scientific concept

  • The scientific concept of IHHT is based on research results that were awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2019. This involves the ability of cells to adapt to increased or reduced oxygen levels (hypoxia tolerance of cells). This effect occurs in the mountains at an altitude of around 1,500 – 2,000 m.

Benefits of intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy

  • Improvement of energy production (ATP) through changes in the mitochondria

  • Regulation of breathing and blood pressure

  • Improvement of resistance to oxidative stress

  • Improvement of insulin sensitivity (through increased production of IGF-1), thus improvement of metabolism, especially in cases of insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus

  • Improvement of hormone regulation and fertility

  • Improvement of metabolism

  • Improvement of neuroprotection and neurogenesis (through stimulation of BDGF-brain-derived growth factor and erythropoietin)

  • Reduction of susceptibility to infection through improvement of immunity

  • Stimulation of the body's own synthesis of coenzyme Q10

  • Improvement of the regenerative capacity of the musculoskeletal system and improvement of the healing process after surgery and injuries (use pre-surgery in surgical interventions)

  • Reduction of post-operative complications

  • Stimulation of physical and mental performance

IHHT is a treatment option for the following diseases

  • High blood pressure

  • Cardiovascular diseases (CHD, cardiac arrhythmias)

  • Diabetes mellitus

  • Fatty liver

  • Obesity

  • Migraine

  • Chronic fatigue syndrome

  • Myalgic encephalomyelitis with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME-CFS)

  • Long Covid / Post-Covid / Post Vac Syndrome

  • Postviral syndromes

  • Depression

  • Burnout

  • Lung diseases

  • Neurodegenerative diseases: dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease
